Annual Intensive Hapkido Seminar Master McCann conducted his annual Intensive Hapkido seminar for the Camden County 4-H club. This years seminar covered defenses from various holds,punches,as well as knife and hand gun disarms. Instructor David Staples assisted as Uke for the day. Master McCann has seen the Hapkido program grow over the past five years and attributes it to the hard work and dedication from the 4-H Black belts. A special thanks to Jason Bobo for his hospitality and for organizing this event.

Congratulations to our Senior Instructor, 'Kyo Sa Nim' Wierzbicki on passing his second degree Black
Belt exam. Craig went through his test flawlessly, setting very high standards for SDA black belts in the future.

Self Defense Academy welcomed Grand Master Frank Nouguera, founder of Defensive Hapkido and president of the Capital Region Martial Arts Alliance as our guest instructor. GM. Nouguera took the Adult class through some new and exciting kicking drills. Much of the class was spent going over Defensive Hapkido's practical approach to close quarter self defense. Our children's class was also very excited by his visit. Several of the kids preformed Hapkido Demos in front of the Grand Master. Master McCann was honored to be presented with the first 'Master Ranking in Hapkido' issued by the newly formed Capital Region Martial Arts Alliance.

Master McCann and the Students of Self Defense Academy were happy to welcome the 'Master of Masters'
Grand Master Moo Young Kang for the first of Many seminars to come. Grand Master Kang began
his Hapkido training in Seoul Korea at the age of 13. Now 63 years old he is one of the highest and most senior
Hapkido Grand Masters still actively teaching in the United States.
Master Kangs knowledge of pressure points and Ki energy is second to none. He is one of the most sought after acupuncturist in souther California. In addition to the Techniques he currently teaches to the DEA...GM. Kang shared his Meridian exercises for Ki development and good health.
